THE MAN : Winning in the 21st Century.
Challenges of the 21st Century: information overload; abundance of sexual promiscuity; explosion of knowledge and hence opportunities to develop and grow. The need to develop yourself to high points of potentials being deployed to bless humanity. Massive competition given a new world village view. The world has become a global village with all the social media, networking on the Internet etc.
Christ grew in stature, in wisdom, in favor with God and man. Luke 2:52.
Know yourself: self awareness is the beginning of recognizing how things are in your personal life. How much of your nature, nurture and environment have affected your decisions, choices and lifestyle. We are all a result of the things in our lives. How many things have impacted your life? Let's see the biblical standard for whole ness, manliness or Christlikeness.
John1:1-4.
He was an embodiment of the Word. He personified the Word. He responded to the circumstances of His life from a level of maturity that seems humanly impossible. He walked in love, in humility, integrity, faithfulness and served God's purposes for His life.
Romans 8:29-
When we see how far we are from the pattern-Son, we then know how much work need to be done in us. We then comprehend the state of things in the 21st century, social media, information over load, and preponderance of immorality in these times.
Where do we start? Let's categorize the areas: physical, Mental development (includes attitudes, acquisition of practical knowledge, etc), Social development (skills involved in reaching out to others, communication, helping others to make progress in their lives.) . Then spiritual development: laying the right foundation, learning the maturity process and coming into full stature of Christ.
Developing yourself to have victory in all areas.
1. Know what God has said about the area;
2. Develop your faith in His ability to perform what He has said: meditate, confess and act on His Word. (Prayers).
3. Expect the results promised in the bible.
4. Have the right motive and focus for the subject matter in your heart.
5. Be a part of a group of people who share your beliefs and let their faith build you up in encouragement.
6. Keep growing in your knowledge of God in those areas, get to know how things work through study, trials and error, mentoring, learning from others;
7. Be a blessing to others in the areas where you were lacking.
Finances.
Deut. 8:18 tells us about the right purpose for money. The love of money is the root of all evil. God supplies.
Obey seed sowing, receive divine ideas, be a wise hard working person. Save some of your earnings. Don't be guilty for not helping every other person. (Boundaries).
Amen!
